Well there’s some new things that I find pretty cool today. It has been a long time since I posted. I guess I just wanted to share some stuff with you that I find very interesting. Three cool things:

How are they going to make an Asian cultured anime into a film without any Asians? Okay, maybe you can argue saying they got some Indians in there. Maybe they chose Indians because of their culture? Some of the Indian culture worship fire…? Or maybe cause the director is Indian… I don’t know… I don’t even see any Indians in the anime.

Okay, but this isn’t what made the movie so bad. The acting was horrible. Throughout the movie I was itching just because of how bad the movie was. Some other things about the movie:
– The plot was slow.
– The action was boring.
– I also felt that there were some awkward parts. Maybe its just me.

Who else gives it the other two thumbs down? My two feet! I don’t think I’ve ever felt so bad and so passionate about a movie before. Just so horrid. Although, I can’t believe I watched the whole movie… Good thing I didn’t waste any money on it, and instead streamed it. But I wasted my life. Thanks M. Night Shyamalan.

Lockerz. I feel like its wasting my time.

It is weird how people try to go as far as they can if something is free. Lockerz.com is this website where people watch videos, buy products and obtain points. You accumulate points to redeem prices. Some prices go from t-shirts to macbooks. It has gone a long from when it first started. Now it is like a bidding frenzy where people try to bid their points for the prices. However, I feel like this bidding scheme is FAKE. I wonder, how do we not know if lockerz program the bids above 100,000 points for popular prices (ie macbooks, ipods, etc.) where it is pretty difficult to obtain. This is some kind of scheme that they try to do so people can get their hopes up and do nothing but generate money for lockerz.

I guess its a great way for them to make money though. I give them that.

A Pervert Among UCLA Extension

Dr. William R Goodin, also known as Bill Goodin.

Here’s his Bio from the UCLA website

Dr. Goodin is responsible for the development, marketing, and quality assurance of nearly 100 state-of-the-art, one-week short courses in computer and information systems, engineering, and technical management.

Previously, he served in technical and management positions at Hughes Aircraft Company (defense software), Digital Productions (graphics software), and Dames & Moore (environmental software). He was also a Post Doctoral Fellow at the California Institute of Technology.

Dr. Goodin holds a BA in mathematics from San Jose State University, MS in computer science, PhD in mechanical engineering, and MEngr in engineering management, all from UCLA. He is an active member of ACM (SIGGraph and SIGCHI), and past chair of the Los Angeles Chapter of ACM.

I’ve seen this guy around campus before and couldn’t believe it. He even has a Facebook and I have mutual friends with him. I’m not doing this because I got a bad grade or anything. I just want everyone to know what happened and should watch out for themselves.

It was graduation day, biggest day of my life right? Graduating from UCLA. My family and my girlfriend came out to watch me walk from the bleachers. My brother told me the story. For those that know my brother, and the type of person he is, a realist and knows what goes on with his surroundings. He doubts a lot of things, but when it comes to certain things, he believes in it.

Exhibit A: This guy was taking pictures of my girlfriend on the bleachers and my brother saw what he was doing. The angle of the camera was not to par of where the graduation was. The ceremony was straight ahead from where they were sitting and my girlfriend was sitting to the side where my brother caught him photographing at an angle.

Exhibit B: As they were walking out of the ceremony, this pervert tried taking an upskirt picture my girlfriend. My brother saw him and viciously stared and shook his head at him. The man was surprised that someone caught him. So what did he do? He did what every pervert would do, aimlessly wonder their eyes around. Got caught!

My brother saw him with his iPhone holding it a certain angle trying to snap a picture. Good thing we know how iPhone works or else we’d just think he was just playing with it. I know there’s no hard evidence to this, but my brother’s word is good enough. So be careful when you’re around this guy.

Homies vs. Run HMC

For those that don’t know whats going on. This is the 2010 Eco Mud Run Tour in Irvine, CA. From the Eco Mud Run Tour website, “it is the social sporting event of the year, featuring great off-road obstacle courses, plenty of mud, and our fun-filled after party and Environmental Expo called Eco Fest.

Each Eco Mud Run tour stop will have a fun 5K course with obstacles that include:

Tunnel Crawls
Mud Pits
Tire Obstacles
Cargo Net Crawls
Jump Walls
And much more…

Eco Mud Run Fact:

The Inaugural Mud Run and Eco Fest, the 2009 Orange County Mud Run, reached event capacity 2 weeks prior to the event with over 8,000 participants attending. In addition, there were over 4,000 spectators enjoying the day’s festivities, as well as 50 food and merchandise vendors exhibiting. THIS IS THE BIGGEST MUD RUN IN NORTH AMERICA.

Today I followed a group of fun filled thrillers that wanted to try this out. Yes, it was the old school boys vs girls. Who will win in this intensive run through the mud!? Well to tell you the truth, it wasn’t a match. It’s not because the guys look strong and buff! But its because the girls cheated by going first. Here’s the scenario…

7:00 am – Registration, bag check
8:00 am – 10k starts
9:00 am – Early bird 5k starts
10:30 am – Sleep in a bit 5k starts

So we were there on time for the registration. But the girls didn’t have to check in anything, they had a handy person to carry their stuff

Anyways, the girls started early. Some of the guys went ahead and follow the girls for some reason didn’t stick with the team! Horrible team members. Then the rest of the guys were looking for the rest of everyone and later found out that they already started running at 9:00 am. Yeah they couldn’t do the 8:00 am 10k run but instead they waited for the 5k and left everyone behind. WEAK. Well, regardless the rest of the guys had to wait for the next an hour and 30 minutes for the next run. Everyone had a good time.

Google Versus The World

Traveling the world could be a fun and enjoying. But not knowing the language of a foreign place can be bothersome. Well there’s a solution to solve your problems. Google Goggle. A new way to tackle and fully experience your surroundings. It is quite fascinating where you just simply take a snapshot of an image with a phone and viola! The words have never been so clear!

Here’s the steps from The Google Mobile Blog:

. Point your phone at a word or phrase. Use the region of interest button to draw a box around specific words
. Press the shutter button
. If Goggles recognizes the text, it will give you the option to translate
. Press the translate button to select the source and destination languages.

Google Goggle does not just limit itself with word translation, but it pretty much does everything you want! You can simply take a picture of something, and a list of search results will pop up sending you information regarding the image.

Conan O’Brien… He’s happy and does not regret his decision in leaving NBC. Who watches NBC anyways when you have Netflix. Well, I guess for the weak that is! Him leaving NBC allows him to explore new things, like his tour that he’s been doing. Anyways, he’s also going to be on TBS now… Here’s his 60 minutes
